Description

Built in 1910-1911 for Hentry Odlin, the Oldin Block consists of two storefronts- 1608 Commercial Drive and 1610 Commercial Drive, and the Odlin Block Apartments at 1612 Commercial Drive. 1608 Commercial Drive has contained numerous businesses, including China Pheasant Cafe from 1958-1970, and Old Europa from 1976-2000s. 1610 Commercial Drive was home of Bake Dell Bakery from 1951 until the early 2000s.

Harry N. Odlin was a barber downtown, first appearing in Vancouver directories in 1896. Odlin was issued two building permits for what would become Odlin block in April 1911, to be built by W. W. Brehart.
