Description

2058 West 5th Avenue first appears in city directories in 1914, though it may have been built as early as 1908. In 1914, the first listed resident was Arthur C. Reynolds, a decorator. From 1915-1918, the house was the residence of three separate employees of the British Columbia Electric Railway. The first long term residence was the Groat family, with G.M Groat of Don Wood and Coal, and later C.A. Groat, of Silver Sawdust Service, occupying the house from between 1933-1953.
