Description

It is not known when Connaught Park officially became a park; In 1912 it was referred to as a duck-filled marsh with a creek flowing through it, and in 1921, parts of it were being used by locals for a market garden.
Connaught Park Fieldhouse was built in 1925, a year before playing fields were created, and construction started on neighbouring Kitsilano Secondary School.

In 1930, the Meraloma Club was given use of the fields and fieldhouse, sharing with the public, until the 1970s, when the club was granted an exclusive lease of the fieldhouse.

The Meralomas renovated the restored the fieldhouse in the late 1970s, and in 1981 received an award from the City of Vancouver for the restoration. It is protected by a municipal heritage bylaw.
