Description

This house was built c. 1911 – 1912 for carpenter Harry Perkins. The Perkins family lived in this house until at least 1945. When the house was built, it would have been one of a few houses on the block. In December 1911 Hastings Townsite amalgamated with Vancouver. This area became the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood. Close to this house was the children’s aid home, built in 1906 and Hastings School, built in 1908.
