In the Vancouver Directories of 1905, 28 Powell Street is listed to William H Granger, Commission. 28 Powell Street was home to Darling Henry paints & Oils from 1907 till the mid 1940s. Previous to 1907, the business was at 56 Powell St. The current concrete and brick strata freehold building at 28 Powell St was constructed in 1993, it has 5+ floors and over 20 units of residential suites with ground floor commercial (cafe/restaurant). While it is not a historic building, it is included as an “M” because it is in the Gastown’s historic district.
