Description
This craftsman style house very similar to its neighbour at 2837 W 6th Ave but this address is listed as the home of Thomas Pettigrew, carpenter in 1912. A permit was issued to him in February 1911 for a frame dwelling house at a value of $1500. In 1913 a William Park is listed as the occupant. Interesting elements include two sets of bay windows, 2 balconies and a turret-like top to upper bay window.
Pettigrew is also associated with 2855 W 6th Avenue as its owner/architect/builder in 1912/1913 as well as 2851 W 6th Avenue, constructed at the same time and 2837 W 6th Ave. In 1919 Pettigrew built himself a new house at 2609 E 28th Ave and lived there till his death in 1934.
