Description

3160 West 3rd Avenue was likely built between 1925-1926, and first appears in city directories in 1927. The first listed resident was Murray G. Patterson, a clerk, and Minnie Patterson, a widow. Murray worked as a a clerk for the Pensions Department, as well as Shaughnessy hospital.

Murray and Minnie lived in the house until 1934. In 1935, the resident changed to James L. Barr and Isabella C. Barr. James worked for the B.C. Electric Railway as a motorman.

In 1937, the resident is listed as Arthur Jamieson, of Vancouver Tug Boat, later a dispatcher for Straits towing, a towing supervisor at Alaska Pine Trading. Arthur and his wife Florence remained at the house until at least 1955.
