Description

Maclure & Fox were the architects for this Arts and Crafts style estate house which was built for Walter and Quita Nichol in 1913, near the northern edge of Shaughnessy. Walter Nichol was the owner of The Province newspaper from 1901 – 1923 and also served as Lieutenant Governor of BC from 1920 – 1926. Subsequent owners include William R. Wilson in 1924; Leopold and Antionette Bentley in 1939 and their son Peter Bentley who retained the house until 2005.
